Yes, that's it exactly. I use red #6 mr crappie tru turn hooks tied to the main line using loop knots. Use the amount of weight at the end that you feel comfortable with. I must say that when fishing the bridge I was not bouncing bottom, the water r…

Yep, picture taking while you're catchin' 'em two at the time is "tuff". I need to do a blog or something on how I've got my "Hat Cam" built. Hands free video of whatever I'm looking at and then when back at my computer just capture a still shot fro…

When they double up like that they can put a heck of a bend in my 9' noodle rod. They can swim against each other or together, but either way they really load the rod. Until three weeks ago I had not tried running two crickets. I was using the same…

Tom, I never have double dated with my crickets. When you catch two like that, do they pull against each other and just sorta pop out of the water and into the cooler?
May 21
Well the gills here in Tn. like my real crickets. Have been catching doubles here under the hobson pike bridge. Filled my cooler in about three hours. Sure am glad I'm quick with a knife. All my friends at Home Depot love me as I bring them fresh fi…

This may be a fake cricket discussion, but them tornadaos ain't fakin'!!! You might want to relocate your fishin' hole. Won't be safe in any other southern state but I never heard of a tornado in Nevada or Arizona or places like that. Lord of the RE…

This is crazy, tornadoes 2 nights in a row, this is just ruining my fishing , last night it rained 3 inches in 1 hour

I'm just glad they didn't get in no tornados out there. Maybe it's just BAMA crickets that don't stink!

Tell that to the leftover ones in my cricket tube from last week, I think they got some kind of Mad Cricket Disease going on ,I need to clean out my cricket tube , it got some kind of cricket smell happening.

I will not experiment with an heirloom! However, I may put some worms in with my crickets leftover from todays outing. The crickets tore 'em up but the worms got one hit. Of course the worms didn't get equal time but they didn't deserve it. A little…

My stomach usually doesn't give the scales enough time to join in on the action though.

They are a very different fish I'll say that. The best I have figured so far is that they like the bottom and live bait, not to say that they wont strike an artificial, it takes some real skill though from what I can gather and I really admire those…

I was kind of worried about that, but I have seen some variations of Hybrids look this way, or at least that is what was posted on the internet. We always called these black pearch. To be honest I do not think the Green Sunfish have the yellow bel…

I am still trying to figure out how to fish for Redear. I have not had much luck with them. The seem to be pretty smart. Do you have tricks you would like to share on catching these guys? Did you happen to get the weight of any of these fish?

They fight just like a big bluegill. I am told you can eat them but haven't tried yet. The ones we caught today went to a friend who has a pet shop. I wouldn't mind trying them though. They are local to south Texas and I would imagine that they eat…

Oops sorry Zach I forgot about need a trout stamp on your license.

Bank access has improved since they began stocking trout back in the late 90's. As of now State regs require a trout license to fish it during the season ($10). If you plan to launch a boat you will need a permit. Not sure about other options as far…

About the only time you can fish Pawhuska from the bank is when they drop the lake for trout season. There is no cost to fish it.

I know, I will have to try it out this fall when the temps drop a bit. Can you fish it from the bank at all, and is there a cost to fish it?

Oh brother, Zach living in Northeast Oklahoma and having not fished this lake before......Let me tell you. A spring fed 90 Acres of Heaven. The wildlife department comes in and stocks trout every other week from November until the end of March (bl…
